Vim Formatoptions J. 'formatoptions' is a string that can contain any of the letters below. The default value for formatoptions in vim is tcq, but this is a bit misleading since it could change based on the opened file type.
Remove the indent and insert up to two spaces (see below). Create a.vimrc at home folder (for linux and mac only, i will cover setup for windows in a later article). Comments * ty clason * fixup:
Wordprocessormode() set columns=80 setlocal formatoptions=1 setlocal noexpandtab map j gj map k gk setlocal spell spelllang=en_us set complete+=s set formatprg=par setlocal wrap setlocal linebreak set foldcolumn=3 highlight normal ctermfg=black ctermbg=grey hi nontext ctermfg=grey guifg=grey endfu com!
To fix this, in normal mode, type gqip to format the inner paragraph. I can't stop vim from wrapping my python code. Comments * this is the last commit. I've got set formatoptions=cqn in my vimrc, but for some reason it doesn't stick.it seems like vim is reverting to the default (fo=tcq) at some point…but i can't figure out why.
